Badge number

The number shown on your badge and usually also in membership lists printed in the con publications. Some cons reserve certain low numbers for the committee and/or GoH, or allocate separate sequences for them (eg. G1, G2, etc. for the guests). They may also allow members to request specific numbers when they join. If more than one person requests the same number they are generally allocated on a first come first served basis. There is something of a cachet associated with low numbers and special numbers (eg. 42) because they show the member joined early.
