Filk

SF-themed folk music, often written and performed by fans at cons. Filk can be either singular (eg. "he sang a filk about the zeroth law of robotics") or collective (eg. "I like to write filk about dragons"). Filks is the plural of filk (eg. "I'm still trying to find a publisher for my collection of filks about talking squids in space"). Can also be used as a verb (eg. "please can you filk a bit more quietly as we're trying to do a panel down the hall") or as an adjective, (eg. "filk music is a lot like folk music but with more spaceships and cats"). See also filker, filksinging, and filking.
