When you pay to support or attend a fan-run con like Eastercon, you are actually becoming a member of it, not a paying customer. All the organisers are paying members too, and as such you should not treat them as employees there to provide you with a service, otherwise you are likely to receive a response along the lines of "if you don't like it, why don't you volunteer to run the next con yourself?"
